NO TUITION;
COMMUNITY FUNDED
We operate on an entirely different model from traditional private schools. Typically a family who enrolls their kid in a private school pays a large tuition in exchange for a service. It is more transactional and separated. This works for some, but requires quite a bit of excess capital to achieve, which is especially challenging with multiple kids. This is how ACS differs. However, it does not mean this school is “free”. Instead, we fund our school through 5 main Pillars:
The Five Pillar Model
Where does funding come from?
Pledges
Instead of having parents pay tuition, parents will make “pledges” at the beginning of the year. Pledges are the amount of money that a family feels they can contribute to the community.
Events
Parents will be encouraged to participate in putting on 1-3 events per year. Events are focused on being fun, in-person, and appealing to a broad base of people. Funds from these events will contribute towards the community.
Micro-support
Similar to how the public schools are supported by local, state, and federal tax, we have a system of supporters who support the school on a micro-level; just $5-$10 per month. About the cost of a coffee! Having many such supporters adds to the community funding.
Donors
As with any non-profit, donors play a crucial role in making critical impact. ACS has a wonderful donor base who want to see children grow into Christian leaders.
Business
Many organizations have associate businesses, often thrift stores. With the aim of having a model that can be easily repeated across the nation, ACS takes after the Girl Scouts. Instead of selling cookies however, ACS has a granola bakery business whose proceeds go to ACS.
